A reference resource for TISD customers

First, open Microsoft Outlook.


  • Go to the Tools menu at the top of the window, and go down to E-mail Accounts. This will start the account configuration wizard for Outlook.
  • Select Add a new e-mail account, and click Next.
  • It will then ask you for the type of server that your new email account will be associated with. Select IMAP, and click Next.


  • The wizard will then ask you for the following information:
    • Your Name: Enter your full name in this space.
    • E-mail Address: Enter your full TISD email address in this space.
    • Incoming Mail Server: Enter "mail.tisd.net" in this space.
    • Outgoing Mail Server: Enter "mail.tisd.net" in this space as well.
    • User Name: This should automatically be filled in using the email information we have provided, if not, this will only be the first portion of your email address; everything before the "@tisd.net".
    • Password: Enter the password that you created or we generated for your account. If you are unsure of this information, please contact our technical support.


Leave the "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" box UNCHECKED.


  • Now, click the box that says More Settings. This will open an Internet E-mail Settings window, click on the Outgoing Server tab.
  • Check the box that says My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication, and ensure the option underneath is set to Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  • Click the OK button at the bottom of the Internet E-mail Settings window.
  • Lastly, click Next and Finish on the E-mail Accounts wizard.


The email account should be set up to send and receive e-mail.
