Microsoft Windows 2000 & Windows XP

  • Click your Start button, and go to Control Panel (In Windows 2000, you will have to go to My Computer, then click Control Panel).
  • In the control panel, click either Network and Internet Connections or Network Connections depending on whether the computer is set for category or classic view. (If you have Network and Internet Connections, click Network Connections on the Network and Internet Connections page)
  • You will now see a connection titled Local Area Connection, rght-click on it, and select Properties.
  • Double-click on the text for the component titled Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), which will open a properties window for it.
  • Select Use the following IP address and Use the following DNS server addresses, and enter the corresponding information in each indicated box using the information that the installer left with you after the installation.

  • Click OK on the TCP/IP Properties window, and OK on the Local Area Connections Properties window.
  • Close all other windows which are open, and open Internet Explorer and make sure that the browser loads the web page. If it does, try a couple other web sites just to make sure the browser is not running off of cached web pages.
